Kindergarten Books

Although I’ve taught at many age levels in the past—from middle-school to university—my current position is as an ESL kindergarten teacher. With 21 kids, I find that the easiest way to settle them down is a with a good book. In fact, reading a book to my kids quiets them better than any video could do, because as the reader, I control the pace and tempo, and I am able to excite the loners and corral the trouble-makers all through the characters of whatever book I happen to be reading.

This page is dedicated to the random and oftentimes short book reviews of kindergarten-level books that I’ve either enjoyed or endured in my classroom.
